Overview
Astragalus membranceus is a plant that is native to northern China and is an important herb to traditional Chinese medicine. It is listed in the official Chinese Pharmacopeia as an herb to treat diabetes and nephritis. In Western herbalism it is traditionally used to support optimal immune system function as a safe tonic. The roots have been tested extensively and are known to contain flavonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids and some trace minerals.
